Atlas CFTI™ All-Metal UHV & XHV Sealing for Non-Magnetic Titanium Vacuum Chambers

The Atlas CFTI™:  The time-tested reliability of the ConFlat® (CF) with body and knife-edge sealed Titanium (TI) is well established. Weld the CFTI™ flange to a titanium vacuum chamber and it becomes completely non-magnetic.

Non-magnetic titanium vacuum chambers will not interact with magnetic environments. Non-magnetic vacuums are used for UHV synchrotron, particle physics, and various industrial applications. They are even used for XHV quantum physics studies. Such applications include non-magnetic beam tubes, wigglers, ungulators, free electron lasers (FEL), drift tubes, and spectrometers.

Light/low weight Atlas CFTI™ Flanges:  These flanges can be used for weight sensitive applications such as aeronautical, space, or portable systems. Weight to volume ratios are 1/3 that of stainless steel flanges. Vacuum chamber engineers can significantly reduce overall weight of vacuum chambers.  The exceptional vacuum properties of Titanium are now within reach. The Atlas CFTI™ Flange provides standard all-metal sealing for titanium vacuum chambers. It enables vacuum engineers and designers to fully utilize the exceptional UHV & XHV properties of titanium.

  • Atlas CFTI™ Flanges are suitable for service in vacuum levels to 1×10-13 plus Torr and 450°C bake-out temperatures. Our titanium flanges can be welded to titanium vacuum vessels and are the key to successful integration of titanium UHV & XHV technology in your application.
  • Atlas Titanium flanges are fully compatible with the industry standard ConFlat® flange interface. Employing CERN’s innovative 20° back-bevel (90° included angle) (Figure 1) knife-edge design, the Atlas CFTI™ Flange provides a longer service life than conventional CF flanges.
