After graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Industrial Design, Dick embarked on a professional career spanning fifty years (and still counting) in high level manufacturing operations, business teaching and consulting, vacuum sales and engineering, and, ultimately, and for the past twenty years, as the president of Atlas Technologies which he owns with his son. Jed Bothell

VICE-President

Jed is our Vice-President and Director of R&D and is intensively involved in research and product development in UHV and advanced materials. He is the co-inventor of the bimetallic flange used on numerous synchrotrons and in semiconductor manufacturing and is leading the development of a novel nano-particle coating technology capable of coating a wide variety of metals. He holds several patents in UHV technology. Additionally, Jed has headed many complex and large scale projects at Atlas Technologies including the completion of BICEP ll as well as a 40′ long fully automated steel and aluminum hypobaric warehouse system. Jed is the active father of three, growing young men and spends his free time with them boating, skiing, and tinkering.

Tom Casey

Operations Manager

Tom’s broad experience in operations at Atlas includes managing complex projects such as laser chambers and x-ray spectrometers. He earned his Mechanical Engineer degree from Cuyamaca College in San Diego, CA and joined Atlas Technologies in 2007. Prior to Atlas he was a director of operations for nine different plants at Avail Medical and the manager of operations for Lenco Equipment Co. When Tom isn’t making processes run smoothly on the job, he spends his time repairing antique clocks.

Austin Henry

Sales Engineer

Austin is the primary Sales Engineer at Atlas Technologies and is the Solidworks drafter for both customer projects and new products. He has worked on the development of a wide array of vacuum products including in-vacuum agricultural product storage systems, novel transmission windows for x-rays and electron beams, and custom in-situ titanium sublimation pumps. Austin is the founder and coach of the Port Townsend High School Robotics Team, a group of twenty 8th through 12th grade STEM students who compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition, including two appearances at the FIRST World Championships.
